I had a Zfold 4. I was mostly satified with it, but the longer i had the more anxious i was about the inner screen breaking, and then there were the micro scratches.... its not worth the anxiety. Im now hoping Apple will one day make a pen phone though. I like to draw.

I JUST got my Samsung Z-Fold 7 and I LOVE it!! 😍 But right after getting it all set up, I heard a tri-fold was about to drop. I was like DAMMIT!! 🤬 I started to return it but decided to keep it. I RARELY actually unfold it… but when I do it’s AWESOME and very useful. The tri-fold would also cost almost $3k .. not thank you! 🙄 I have NO NEED OR DESIRE for a $3,000 phone, especially when it can’t do anything mine can do, it just has an extra panel to fold out. 🤷🏾‍♂️ I’m digging my new phone and plan on keeping it a VERY long time. 🥰🥰🥰

I have a Samsung galaxy fold 6 and love it. The excitement phase for it has wore off for me but I still get people asking about it in public. 2 cons 1. I feel like a snob for using it in public 2. It hurts real bad if you fall asleep with it in your hand and it falls on you. Other than that I still enjoy it and the how it can still fit in my pocket along with my collapsible phone stand. This 3 folds thing sounds exciting to be honest.

I have had 3 Z folds over the years. Love them. Would hate to be forced back to a single screen. I will probably wait a bit after release of the G Fold (or whatever it will be called) so they can work out the bugs but I am really excited. Plus I am told it will be keyboard and mouse compatible with Samsung dox and it might just replace my travel personal laptop.

Why 4.2mm in the middle? Probably because it was developed along the Fold7.. It is basically a Fold7 (4.2mm each panel) with an extra panel and a thicker first hinge. As a positive side-effect, the trifold pushed them to greatly improve the thickness of the Fold! Thanks Trifold!

Been using the Z fold 4 and 5 for about 3 years now and loving it. I understand that the newer versions are even better. Why all the seeming hate for something that was inevitable after they'd already been successful releasing and then version by version improving something for which adding a second iteration of something they've been doing well and then better and better for years was an inevitability? Well I have the iphone15, I hate that phone for multiple reasons including 2e trustees constantly to pay for things using apple pay which I use daily. The connectivity issues with it and GPS and just constantly disconnecting from the att service leaving me stranded constantly not knowing where to go(my job has me always on the road) . Now I switched over to a galaxy fold 4 and the phone inner screen broke within a week. Has me rethinking Samsung but I still love the idea of foldable phones and now I'm looking to replace this phone with a better one

And somehow I've becoming more and more interested in weird phones like the jelly star which is just 3in screen. I just want a simple phone... not a tablet them folds up into an oversized phone that will just break in my pocket.

Tri-panel or Bi-fold, it's not a Tri-fold. There's 2 hinges on the larger of the two folds, but that's one of the two folds.

Samsung definitely knows how to make a proper folding phone. My Fold4 has been dropped several times over the past 2 years, 0 damage to either screen and no wear to the center of the bending screen.

I have the zFold 3. It's pretty nice but after awhile the screen starts to crack from all the folding and unfolding. I love the size of the screen, but wouldn't want a bigger phone. It's pretty heavy.

Can't they make a plastic/glass fused hinge were only the hinge part of the screen is plastic and the seam is invisible? You would still have scratches but only at 5% of the screen, and if you would add an easy replaceable plastic screen protector, not even there.

When I saw the Huwai one I was like wtf do they really leave 1/3 of the soft screen completely unprotected when folded + the side as well? Now seeing how Samsung solves that problem and having a 7 flip I can say I am certainly interested in trying one, but that price is a bit out of budget as the Flip was already expensive enough and I rather invest that in a new PC.

i just use a red magic gaming tablet for gaming, i cant imagine trying to use this thing for gaming with the lack of cooling tools to have portability. i dont even bring my phone with me since it has GPS tracker built into them to ping your location and it emits EMF radiation in low amounts that are bad for your testicles and breast depending on what sex you are. so i basically keep mine at home. with most family members hitting either 40 or 60 their old and have their own life anyways so i dont get much calls unless its from my mother or my older sister. i dont need much i still keep my 8 plus since it can call them and take pictures or whatever but as for internet or mobile games i have the ipad pro to watch stuff in the living room with it hooked to my JBL speaker for better sound and my red magic for gaming which i hope my case arrives at some point so i can stand it up right. do you have any idea how annoying it is to try to set up a phone or tablet without a case? it just slips and you have have to use a tackle box to put it against and put the bottom part on top of a shirt and hope that helps. a case with make it so much easier.

Why it has to be so expensive?

It will just get annoying to have to open a additional center screen all the time. The current fold phone is just about perfect. You look something up in the outside screen and just open the fold if you need a little more room. The only added benefit i see for having a tri fold is for media consumption/gaming but isn't that what tablets are for? I mean it's not a big deal but when you open it up hundreds of times a day it gets old fast.

What do iPhone air, Galaxy edge and all foldables have in common? At their price tag hardly anybody accepts the compromises to be made for that one defining feature. This is in my opinion the main reason why the former two flop and the latter category can’t get beyond 3% market share.

Tri-fold Tri meaning 3 panels Fold being self evident Samsung has the fold game covered and Apple is now going to try an catch up. Hawuei or w/e their name is knew that someone would move onto a larger device so they created the not so hardy device they sell now. Samsung is doing with the z-fold what they did with the first few g-folds; start with a thick border. I will likely do what I did with the g-folds and wait till the 3rd gen z-fold. That way at least the devs for Pokemon Unite and CoDM update their games for that specific resolution.

To me 2800 stand point is really not that bad. When you add the cost of and high end phone that's 1200 and a high end tablet 1400. 2 device could cost anywhere from 2400 or 2600 hundred now you making where both device into one. 2800 not so bad. The other phone he show that is out. Basic is 5k. One with more specs is close to 6k
